1550 Lawrence Ave West – East Stairwell

Toronto, Ontario

The completion of this work significantly enhances the waterproofing capabilities of the structure, improves drainage efficiency, and provides a safe environment for users.

Our team completed a detailed waterproofing project, which involved several critical tasks to enhance the structural integrity and safety of the area:

Hot Rubber Waterproofing: We meticulously applied hot rubber waterproofing along the east side of the stairwell. This process involved heating rubberized membranes and applying them seamlessly to create a continuous barrier. The result is a flexible, durable layer that effectively prevents water penetration and protects the underlying structures from moisture damage.

New Deck Drain Installation: To address drainage issues, we installed a new deck drain strategically positioned to optimize water flow away from the deck area. This installation is designed to handle heavy rainfall and reduce the risk of water pooling, which can lead to deterioration over time.

Deck Slab Replacement: The existing deck slab at the landing area was removed and replaced. This was crucial not only to ensure a stable foundation for the waterproofing but also to eliminate any existing damage or cracks that could compromise the effectiveness of the waterproofing system.

Sidewalk Panel Replacement: We replaced a cracked sidewalk panel, which posed a tripping hazard. The new panel was carefully installed to match the surrounding area, ensuring both safety and aesthetic continuity.
